For Love Not Lisa – Slip Slide Melting

04 Apr, 2012

Album: Merge (1993), EastWest

This song got me immediately after the first listen. When the unreal chorus comes, after a crushing introductory riff and following an electrifying ride of a guitar coupling, I want to scream. A total celebration of drive and disposition. But the true highlight is a beautiful epic break, which sends shivers down my spine.

She bends right through me
Run wicked, ramble way
Come eve, come May, come in
I shovel pain with liquid shades

If I can lift this head melting hand
If I can, death remains the same
If I can lift this head melting hand
You cry, you cry, death remains the same

Slip slide melting

The flame tames honor
Where dancing heroes play
The dawn delivers me life
New skins in which to hide

My hands reach daily
New life in me remain
Let me be, let me be, let me be, let me be
Yeah, hey, let me be

If I can lift this head, melting hand
If I can, death remains the same
If I can lift this head, melting hand
If I, if I, if I, if I

Slip slide melting

Lord, I would die for you
Take this part away
Find some space in the sunshine
Lord, I would try for you
Take this part away, fade it away

Lord, I would die for you
Take this part away
Find some space in the sunshine
Lord, I would try for you
Take this part away, away, away

Give me something
To believe in, me, yeah
Me, yeah, me, yeah, yeah

Songwriters: Michael Miles / Michael Lewis

How in the world do I reach this band? They have a recent Web site, but I cannot post or email!! Say they are recording again as of 2014!!! I just left long review of Information Superdriveway in Amazon, and would love for them to know it has always been my favorite album of all time!!! I will wait and see if someone actually reads this. I need to sing thee praises of FLCL, and tell a story of how I mistakenly discoved them decades ago, and how they have influenced my life. Someone tell me if they have a fan club or just a way to let them know that they have fans still.
